Confession: we are awful at checking out mail. Maybe once, twice a month we’ll make our way to our P.O. Box and check out what’s going on there, coming home with tons of stuff we didn’t mean to neglect but somehow did. One thing that came through was a pretty rad conceptual infographic poster by way of Newport Beach’s Column Five, a poster intended to creatively track your coffee consumption and get you involved with your daily drinking experience.
The item, entitled “In Caffeine We Trust,” is a poster of graphs to be filled out accompanied with a little bag of coffee (from the soon-to-be opened Lord Windsor in Long Beach). We thought it was for something fairly recently but, digging into the directions and looking at the postmark, we were off by nearly three months: the piece was mailed and stamped December 29 as a part of the “holiday season.” Sheesh: we were way late on this!
In any event, the poster is pretty great. It’s very well designed and very inviting for you to interact with this IRL infographic that can help you realize truths to your coffee drinking. The way it works is that everyday you record the ounces of coffee you drink by staining in (with coffee!) your totals like a watercolor paint-by-numbers. Log everything else–from favorite beans to how you drink your coffee–also by staining and, when done, stamp it with a ring from a coffee mug and submit it through Column Five.
Unfortunately for us, the due date for this project was February 29, leaving us already one month and fourteen days behind on getting our poster in. Regardless, we think the project is pretty great and you can even participate in your own coffee logging by grabbing the poster here. Thanks to Column Five, we’ll be checking our mail more often and will try to be more timely about sharing cool stuff (that are time sensitive).
