Maptote’s Los Angeles Bandana
Maptote have been making city centered map merchandise for some time now. They make totes, they make notebooks, pouches, buttons, and more based on cities around the world. They’re basically the cooler, less “Oh, you have that poster. I have it too.” city centered art that Ork has very much popularized in the past few years. We caught our favorite item from them–their bandanas–at Fountain’s Venokado a week ago and remembered that, duh, we had to share it.
As you can see, we grabbed the bandana (“bandana”) in navy on red but you can also grab it in white, chambray, or navy. It’s a pretty large little map depicting the city from Northridge and the San Garbiel Mountains to Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Downtown, and East LA, to Watts, Compton, and Redondo Beach. Scattered across it are lots of cars, some paparazzi cameras, palm trees, Walk of Fame stars, Watts Tower, the Hollywood sign, and little friends like a mammoth, caveman, and a surfer, all done in their cute/cool cartoon way.
Maptote recommends the bandana be used for a napkin, handkercheif, or–as we’ll likely use it for–wall art. It’s a really cute product that would make the perfect gift for any die-hard Angeleno you know. You can grab them here for $12 or swing by Fountain’s Venokado to snatch up a few (if you can’t handle waiting for shipping, etc.). We hope to see lots of these around the city in time for Summer!
