What’s Your Favorite Los Angeles Music Video? Share And You Could Win Tickets To LAMVF!

What's-Your-Favorite-Los-Angeles-Music-Video

As we shared earlier today, this weekend is the Los Angeles Music Video Festival. Eric Warheim will be sharing a crazy video, there will be a performance by Seventeen Evergreen, there will be drinks, there will be talks, there will be opportunities for you to meet cool music video people, and tons of other fun things. Tickets are available for the Festival here; but, we have a chance for you to win two tickets to the fest by sharing your favorite Los Angeles music video!

That’s right: you and a friend could be attending the Friday and Saturday festivities by telling us what your favorite Los Angeles music video is and why. In the comments or by e-mail, share the following:
• Your favorite Los Angeles music video. Now, let us explain: we’d like for these to be videos that take place in and around Los Angeles/Southern California, where the city plays a big role in the video. But, as we know, that’s a little tricky and we’re opening it to all Los Angeles based musicians. If liked Best Coast’s “When I’m With You,” that works! Loved Red Hot Chili Peppers “Under The Bridge”? That works, too! (Non-hologram) 2Pac’s “California Love” your favorite? Yes, that counts! Share the YouTube or Vimeo URL in the comments or by e-mail as we’d love to see which videos are your favorites.
Tell us why you love the video. In at least two sentences, tell us why it is such a great video. Is it the concept? Is it the song in conjunction with the video? Is it how Los Angeles looks? Is it some really cool part of it? Is it because the lead in the video is hot? Explain it to us–and you could win!

Now, it’s only right that we share our favorite to give you an idea of what we’re looking for…

The Preset’s “If I Know You” is hands down my favorite Los Angeles music video. For me, it represents this late aughts youthfulness (i.e., hipster nature) of Los Angeles summed up through a few kids dancing and skipping around Los Angeles devolving into their own clique of the Lost Boys (Peter Pan version–not vampire version). The Eva Husson directed video covers Downtown to the Walk of Fame to Echo Park and everywhere in between. It’s a sad, pretty, and well made video that reminds me of being a newborn Angeleno so excited by the city and eager to conquer it. It’s super great.

So, send us your favorite LA music video and your thoughts on it and you could win tickets to this weekend’s Los Angeles Music Video Festival! Submissions must be received by Thursday at 12PM, noon. We’ll announce the winner later that afternoon and, likely, will share a few of the entries that stuck out to us, too. We’re looking forward to what everyone has to share and say!
