JUCO is a collaborative photo duo Julia Galdo and Cody Cloud, two photographers based in Los Angeles. They seem to be exploding lately or, at least, have been getting lots of recognition for their work–specifically a recent FOAM magazine fashion spread and a Los Angeles Magazine shoot they did at the Sowden House. One of their best works that we haven’t seen is a spread they did for San Francisco Magazine called Flight Patterns back in February. You guys: it’s really fantastic.
The photos are for an editorial spread that, obviously, is all about patterns and pattern play and all that stuff. The concept is to have a pretty strawberry blonde girl in patterned dresses in front of patterned wallpapers. Simple, done, check’s in the mail! Wrong: then they decided to add in some giant parrots, which is what makes it so great. Everything from the model to the clothes are great but these birds certainly steal the show, the photo directly above being a perfect example of this (and, really, a perfect photo). And, for San Francisco Magazine? I would have guessed Black Book.
Check out more below and there are a few more on their Behance profile. Poke around their as well for more great work, too. They’re definitely a local photography duo to keep an eye on.
