ANI Footwear
ANI (As Nature Intended) Footwear is a local footwear company that are seeking to make an eco-friendly shoe that is both smart and street savvy. The shoes are these basic, black canvas shoes that are accented with primary colors: they’re simple, easy, nice footwear that we would definitely wear biking around town.
“Our mission at ANI is to provide stylish, eco-friendly barefoot shoes to the world,” they say in their statement. “We envision a world where everyone can move naturally and appear fashionable at the same time.” Their shoes are a great effort toward that since they are so simple and play with negative space and just a little color accent to make them more than just “any shoe.” They also employ “barefoot shoe” technology (or something) which makes the shoe work with the foot instead of against it, making the shoe more comfortable and “as nature intended” footwear to be.
The shoes remind me of a casual version of Camper’s Kremer shoe, which are awesome but border being silly since they are a dress shoe. ANI employs the same concept but in a more casual way, which is something that makes more sense. The shoes are not directly available now as they’re somewhat of a concept. However, if you like them, donate to their Kickstarter campaign and they’ll have funding to manufacture these kicks soon enough.
