Tom Burns is a Los Angeles based industrial designer with an eye for modern design. He creates contemporary furniture and goods that are sleek and very new designs. His Magazine Table takes a simple concept (a table that also houses your magazines) and turns it into these slick, sexy furniture pieces.

The table comes in a few varieties of styles but all lean circularly with a slit in the middle for your reading material. The tables stand on pins and comes in black or a rich cobalt. Some of the tables are uneven–one part of the table higher than the other–or are perfectly flush. His designs also see the circular shape of the table married with sharp square edges, adding a little edginess to the normally soft shape.

The pieces seem a little low to the ground, which would make them perfect accompaniments to your bedside or living room. We have all of our magazines and coasters stuffed under some woody little modern coffee table, which is nice but certainly not as sexy as Burns’ Magazine Table: ours looks like a “Magazine Girdle.” Check out more of Burns’ work here and keep your eyes out for these tables.
