Andie Dinkin is a Los Angeles artist who is currently studying at RISD. We stumbled upon her very delicate and ghostly art a few days ago and found them to be absolutely mesmerizing. She has an ability to make the gloomy breathtaking.
Dinkin makes work with ink and paint, both mediums embracing her dark eyed people in splotchy worlds. She has a very subdued palette that range from shades of rust to darkened jewel tones. Her work addresses human life through a very emotive view. The work is partly impressionistic, partly tonal resonations which she achieves through these pooling dried drops of color.
We really enjoy Andie Dinkin’s work. They’re a little somber but are incredibly fascinating and curious. We hope Dinkin returns West after she finishes school because she is one local talent we hope doesn’t move away.
