The LA Holiday 25, Day 2: Arlo Jacob Candles
On the second day of Holiday, my LA friend gave to me: an Arlo Jacob Candle.
Who Would This Be Great For? For the always curious, sometimes grumpy grandfather who wants a kick of nostalgia without the mess of searching into the past.
Who Is Giving This Gift? From the always sweet, very on-top-of-trends grandson who wants to give a gift of history without the baggage of textbooks.
Why This Gift? Arlo Jacob is a brand new Los Angeles candle company started by LA’s CreativeMorning’s runner and former LAIY coverboy Jon Setzen. Their first candle is The Courlander and it is a delightful interpretation of the scents a well worn pipe has. It’s chocolatey and rich in incense notes but feels very light and new: it’s a total delight. Jon worked very hard with local candlemakers to create the scent and did all the branding and necessary identity items itself…and it looks fantastic! He gave us a try of his first pipe tobacco rich scent a few weeks back and we are obsessed. It has not been up for purchase yet but hits the online tomorrow morning. More on this in a minute…
Where Can You Get It? At Arlo Jacob’s website! The candle is totally brand new and will undoubtedly sell out fast. Check the site tomorrow morning to give it a purchase. It’s a wonderful scent!
