You guys! Monday is President’s Day! Take a break! Relax! Skip work! We’ll be doing that! We’ll also be hitting up Palm Springs this weekend for Modernism Week so, if you are there, say hello. Moreover, next week is a big week in Los Angeles that we want to ignore but cannot: it is Oscar Week! What’s that mean? Congested streets, the near end of movie propaganda in our faces, and the return of the Los Angeles, I’m Yours Oscar Week Diary. Yes, our friends at Vanity Fair have invited us to a few of their events in addition to a few other venues who invited us to “check out what they are doing” to celebrate 2012 movies, etc. While we are concerned that the Diary could be very similar to last year’s, we want to make things interesting. If you have been to The Standard Hollywood since December, you may have noticed that it has totally been transformed into a California cosmic winter wonder zone courtesy of National Forest‘s Justin Krietemeyer and Steven Harrington. The show is their Auroraborealis and is totally great. To support the close of the show, we are teaming up with both The Standard and National Forest to throw a kick ass party on February 9. Guess what, guys? This weekend is a three day weekend! Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day! We’re sure not everyone will have a holiday but we’ll be taking off and resuming a regular Monday schedule (Featured Interview, et al) on Tuesday and then resuming the week as normal on the following day. Because you who have work may be bummed about no posts on Monday, don’t fret: we’re spending the weekend working. How?
