Some of you may know this but we wanted to give a heads up: we have been sharing weekly articles on Los Angeles Magazine’s website! The content is totally different than what we’ve been sharing here (i.e. unique articles) and they are a lot of fun. Check out new articles every Friday! Links our latest after the jump.
Believe it or not, we’re in the thick of the holiday season. We’ve been in it for some time! This December is a quick month since we have three weeks and then it’s all of a sudden Christmas and Kwanza and New Years. Thanksgiving and Chanukah have already gone down! And we want to help give you some help in gifting this year—but with a local twist. Like we did last year, we’re going to take some time this December to give countdown twenty five LAIY approved gifts: we present to you The 2013 LA Holiday 25.
After today, your loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong weekend will have begun. Because we too are in need of a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong weekend, we are closing up shop today in observance of Thanksgiving. So how will you fill this loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong period of time? CHECK THE RECAP!!
LAIY turns two today and we can’t help but wonder what LAIY would be like if she were a real person. What do LA two year olds do in LA? We’ve never wondered what kids in the city do but, on the site’s birthday, we are left with a few questions about how the young keep themselves occupied. Thus, we brainstormed a few things we imagine the LA two year old to do (and that we imagine our little LAIY baby to also be participating in too).
We have some very exciting news to share. First, it is our second birthday today on LAIY. Seriously! This little site started on October 3, 2011—and look how far we’ve come! After nearly a year in development and months and months and months of work, we are finally ready to present you guys the start of a very new extension of LAIY’s mission of sharing stories of creatives, makers, and special people who make Los Angeles: we’d like to share the first in of our new series, LAIY Video. Our first subject is Sinclair Denim and co-founder Vincent Flumiani who gives us a peek into the Sinclair world. Sit back, relax, and enjoy a look into the world of jean making in LA.
