Lookie, people: to extend the limit of The Recap and capture things we may have not celebrated as much as we wanted, we’re now contributing a little, occasional catch up of things we like and have shared on LAIY on Vanity Fair’s Agenda. Need a summary of posts we’re into? This is a help.
The worn adage “Time flies when you are having fun.” is particularly special today as it marks the first year (to this post exactly!) that LAIY has been around. That’s right: it’s our first brithday–and it came out of nowhere.
Nearly a month until our one year anniversary (!!!!!!!!), we have some news to share. It’s not bad news or good news but something you guys should know as there may be a lag or a few slower days in posting. As of Monday, I started a job working on the social media for a television show. It should be fun and super exciting and blah blah blah but it also means LAIY will have some weird time management issues to adjust to. We’ll have it figured out in no time!
If you guys caught our Tweet late Friday, we had a little surprise to share: Los Angeles, I’m Yours makes an appearance in this month’s issue of Vanity Fair! Yes, there is a tiny blurb about us on page 61, slid in between a story on the Scandinavian cultural invasion and how Frank Gehry is battling Dwight D. Eisenhower’s grandchildren while attempting to build a memorial to the former president. You could blink and miss it but you absolutely should not. We are positive this is the story Vanity Fair readers are going to be talking about for years and years to come so we figure we’d give a little behind the scenes take on what went into creating our soon-to-be-infamous Vanity Fair Agenda inclusion.
Tomorrow is the Fourth of July! What does that mean? Barbecues! Fireworks! Day drinking! Sleeping in! Singing the national anthem! Placing a hand over your heart! Bald eagles! Putting your body in a pool! Taking a nap! Petting dogs! Being in the sun! USA! USA! USA! You know what it also means? No work! Thus, we are off tomorrow.
