“I feel like this is my home: radio is my my home—and probably will be my nursing home,” Madeleine Brand says with a laugh, seated within a small KCRW conference room. “I’ve been doing radio since college! I feel so comfortable here. I’m still learning things even though I’ve been doing this for most of my adult life: every day I learn something new in terms of what I can do and what I can do with the craft, which I like.”

“It’s because we’re doing the news—and it’s different every day,” she points out.
